The man behind the Bearmoon experience is Robert X Vessmann, a Richmond hill resident. Over the past 25 year period he has turned a one man show into a company that employs more than 15 full and part-time DJ'S along with support staff. During the past 10 years in which time Robert Vessmann worked for and with one of Toronto's top radio stations (Mix 99.9 FM), Bearmoon Productions has experienced steady growth from events with 200 to 2000 plus people attending.

The concept is simple, get the guests involved in the show and make the clients stars of the event. "If people are clapping their hands, tapping their toes or bouncing in their seats, they are having a good time", says the 'Bear' as most have come to know Robert Vessmann. "We do a lot of things to excite people, but you also have to be careful not to get too corny. It's all in the 'attitude' of the presentation."
Music is still and always will be the key element fuelling the Bearmoon difference. It's not just manipulating the music and then working the crowd, it's the combination of doing both at the same time.

His interest in DJing started 25 years ago for the Bear. It started with a couple of cassette decks, homemade mixed tapes and a few high school parties for friends. In time, a trip to New York, New Jersey, Baltimore and Montreal, something good was happening. Graduating from Ryerson Polytech after studying architecture and working in the field for a few years, the Bear decided to take up DJing full time.

With increasing demands for the Bear's services it was time to grow. So with some in-house training and a little more training, Bearmoon Productions has an energetic and well-rounded staff, ready to take on any challenge passed their way. Handling functions that once hosted 200 people to now having upwards of 2000 people attend, everything from weddings to corporate functions, fund raisers and fashion shows, product launches as well as...well you get the picture.

With all this behind Bearmoon Productions, the future is looking good. Along with growing interest in their services by radio stations and many other high profile clients, it is certain that Bearmoon Productions has arrived on the live disc jockey entertainment scene. With the head office in Greater Toronto, and a division office in Thunder Bay Ontario, the Bear is looking forward to expanding out to Montreal, Halifax and Vancouver when the time is right.
